机の修理

息子の使っている机の調子が良くない。妻が直してほしいと言ってきた。観てみると4個ある引きだしの3個が破壊されている。それぞれ奥の板が外れている。大きな引きだしの奥の板は真っ二つに折れて脱落していた。よほど大きな力が掛かって破壊されたのであろう。またこの引き出しの横両ガイドは脱落して引き出し機能は無くなっていた。小さい引き出し2個は、奥の板を接着剤により修復可能であった。大きな引きだしの奥の板は折れているので接着剤だけでは修復は不可能である。適切な補強板を板材から切リだして木ネジ4本と接着剤で補強した。奥の板は奥即ち裏から補強した。また引き出しの両側のガイド板は折れていて脱落しているので下側から別個のガイド板を3個新設した。こうして机の修理をしたが使用したのは接着剤だけで、板切れと木ネジは在庫のものでだけであった。

 昨日 店じまいするS店に最後の買い物に行った。S店は48年間続き2月20日に閉店となった。閉店理由は経年により耐震基準に問題がでたが、耐震補強工事をする費用が無いと聞く。息子が小さい時に、この店で男の子の節句の記念に「武者」という掛け軸を買った。源氏のタメトモを描いたものである。この掛け軸は未だに季節には飾っている。さて、春の掛け軸が残っているかと思ったが既に無かった。3階の階段上で玩具を買ってと愚図った娘も3人の娘の母である。結局はハンガー1個と1階で芋パン3個を買い帰宅した。
